Kl Rahul selection in the third Test match of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) has been the taking point in the last few days. In the team selection for the last 2 matches of the series KL Rahul is removed from the Vice Captaincy role. In the press conference Rohit Sharma, the Indian team captain gave the answer about KL Rahul place.

Rohit Sharma was asked several question in the press conference. On the question of KL Rahul selection he said team combination will be revealed after the toss, just to make that interesting for you guys. He said removal of KL Rahul from the Vice Captaincy doesn’t represent anything it’s Just that a senior player was not there in the team. He said all 16-17 players are in the contention and the team will be revealed after the toss.
On the question regarding shubman gill’s practising before the match, he said we all prepare like this before every Match and after seeing the pitch only we will decide the playing eleven.
He said that the breaks between the series are a good thing. Players get to refresh themselves and can meet the family.
He was asked his opinion on the Virat Kohli suggestion of limiting the Test cricket to 5 venue’s to which he replied that cricket should be played all over the country and should not be confined to 5-6 venue’s.
He said Jadeja, Ashwin and Aksar Patel are good batters and they can play in the top order as well but seeing that after 5 wickets we still have player like them gives enough confidence in the batting department. He said we were under the pump in the Delhi but they have bailed us out from that situation and help us winning that test match.
According to him players have been playing good cricket and the pitches are equally difficult for everyone. Indian team is looking to win the Test in the indore so they can qualify for World Test Championship final. If India qualifies the last test might be turned into the practice for WTC final and we can practice on green top wicket as well.
On shardul thakur selection he said yes he in the contention for the WTC and will look to play in Ahmedabad.
