The 16th edition of Indian premier league will start from 31 march with much anticipated match between Chennai Super Kings and defending champion Gujarat Titans. Match will take place in Ahmedabad. 1 lakh crowd is expected to come for first match of the new season.

All the teams picked different players in mini auction held in December 2022. But some of the key players will be missing from this edition due to injury concerns. Franchises has suffered big blow ahead of the TATA IPL 2023 as many of the players have been injured and they won’t be able to take part in this year league.
List of injured players in TATA IPL 2023
Jasprit Bumrah : Mumbai Indians has suffered Major blow as their pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will miss the complete season due to back surgery. In the last one year he has become an unsolved puzzle for Indian cricket as he was declared fit and wasn’t able to play the match.
He has undergone back surgery and will be under rehab. Last year jofra archer also missed the IPL for them.
Jhye Richardson : Jhye Richardson will also miss the IPL 2023. He suffered hamstring injury in Big bash league after that he tried for comeback but his injury reoccur and might miss ashes as well. Mumbai suffered blow as their two Pacers won’t be available for IPL.
Rishabh Pant : Rishabh won’t be part of IPL as he suffered car accident and got multiple injuries.
Johny Bairstow : The Punjab Kings opener won’t be available as he broke his leg while playing golf. He will mis complete season.
It will be interesting to see who will be available for opening slot for them.
Will Jack : He suffered muscle injury while fielding in a game for his country against Bangladesh. RCB has selected Bracewell as his replacement for this season.
Kyle Jamieson : The 28 year old pacer will miss IPL 2023 due to injury and he will be replaced by sisanda magala, the South African pacer.
Prasidh Krishna : He has been ruled out of IPL due to his persistent back problem. Sandeep Sharma who went unsold in auction has been picked as his replacement.
Shreyas Iyer : Kolkata knight riders captain will miss first leg of the season due to his back problems. He is advised to go for surgery but keeping World Cup in mind he won’t take surgery option.
