Just when everything was going right for Indian team in the chase of 444 against Australia in oval, Rohit Sharma again played a bat shot to get himself out after counter attacking the Australian fast bowlers in first hour of Indian innings.
Shubman Gill catch was certainly a bad example of Umpiring
India started very positively in the chase of 444 both Rohit Sharma and shubhman Gill started with flurry of boundaries and Rohit hit a six of Mitchell Starc bowling. Everything was going right from indian perspective but a bowl from Boland rised a little bit and took Shubman outside edge and went into the hand of Cameron green who claimed the catch.
Well the onfield umpires referred it to the third umpire and the third umpire check two three angles. The ball was touching the ground before Green took hold of it but to everyone surprise third umpire gave it out.
It was disappointing from Indian perspective that third umpire gave that out. The benefit of doubt should have definitely gone into Shubman Gill favour.
Nathan Lyon gets Rohit Sharma out in his first over
after the wicket of shubham gill Rohit and Pujara stitched a partnership and were going great guns. Rohit played some counter attacking cricket against Australian Pacers. Australian introduced Nathan Lyon into the attack and Rohit tried to play a paddle sweep on his bowling but ball straighten up after pitching which hit Rohit Sharma directly on his back leg which was given out.
Rohit Sharma has developed this habit of getting good start and then throwing it away. After playing the new ball easily rohit threw it away on spinners bowling. It was certainly disappointing from fans perspective when the chase was going very well and their one of the experienced batsman get out in this fashion.
Pujara Playing a T20i shot in test Match
After Rohit Sharma wicket pujara also fell he tried to play an uper cut which he failed to execute. He also get out on poor shot. When everything was going right Pujara also fell cheaply in very important chase.
all the three batters which got out will be very disappointing. Their dismissal has nothing to do with pitch condition. Shubman got out due to bad decision. Rohit and Pujara got out after playing bad shot.
Meanwhile Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane stitched up a very good partnership and went unbeaten at the end of days play. India need 280 runs on the last day with 7 wickets in hand. The onus will be On Virat and Ajinkya to bail them out of this situation and get Indian team a victory which is looking quite impossible.
